Course Description

Would you like your child to have a specific writing strategy in their tool belt for responding to texts? In this class, students will practice a specific strategy that they can use for any prompt that asks them to support their ideas with evidence. As a class, we will read short passages together and the teacher will guide students in writing. The strategy will remain the same each week, with students gaining confidence through repetition, but each week they will read and respond to different passages. Student Supplies: Printed paper copies of the reading passages for each class, a highlighter, colored pencil or other writing tool would also be helpful for marking the text.
