Course Description

In this 4 session class for 2nd–5th graders, students will learn a new art skill each session. With step-by-step guidance, kids will create a hands-on project using the skill of the week, building their creativity and confidence as young artists. By the end of each class, they’ll have a completed artwork and a new technique to add to their toolbox! In this session we will complete summer-themed projects while learning about Mosaics, One-Point Perspective, Tints and Shades, and Mixed Media. Supply List for Students: Construction paper, regular paint, watercolor paint, paint brushes, scissors, glue, markers, colored pencils, pencil. For the first session of this class we will need pictures cut out of magazines for our Mosaic art project, so now is a good time to start collecting a few magazines! A list of the specific supplies will be sent in the initial email, as well as a reminder email the Friday before each class.
