Course Description

In this 4 week class for 1st–5th graders, students will learn a new art skill each session. With step-by-step guidance, kids will create a hands-on project using the skill of the week, building their creativity and confidence as young artists. By the end of each class, they’ll have a completed artwork and a new technique to add to their toolbox! In this session we will complete spring-themed projects while learning about Pop Art, Henri Matisse, Impressionism, and Surrealism. Supply List for Students: Construction paper, oil pastels, paint, paint brushes, scissors, glue, markers, pencil. For the last session of this class we will need pictures cut out of magazines for our Surrealism art project, so now is a good time to start collecting a few magazines! A list of the specific supplies will be sent in the initial email, as well as a reminder email the Friday before each class.
