Course Description

We will use songs and games to learn and practice short vowel sounds and sight words.. Students should recognize the letters of the alphabet and know the sounds most of the consonants make. The goal of the course is for each learner to have lists of short vowel (CVC) words he or she can read independently at the conclusion of the course. Supplies Needed: individual whiteboard with dry erase markers or notebook paper and marker. Sight Word Bingo Sheets will need to be printed out with cut up paper or dried beans or pasta to use to cover the board. Students will be able to say the short vowel sound for the five vowels and know when to use the short vowel sound.
