Get ready to dive into the fun of Lunar New Year with stories, colors, and crafts! We’ll explore what makes this holiday so special: think lucky symbols, bright red and gold decorations, and exciting traditions. After a fun read-aloud, students will make their own festive paper lanterns, decorating them with colorful designs and symbols to bring the holiday stories to life in a hands-on, creative way. Materials: - Red and gold construction paper or cardstock - Scissors (child-safe) - Glue sticks - Markers, colored pencils, or crayons - Decorative materials: stickers, glitter, sequins, or tissue paper (optional) - Ruler - Tape - Images or chart showing Lunar New Year symbols (dragons, lanterns, fireworks, fish, etc.)
