Course Description

Gathering Blue, by Lois Lowry, is a classic dystopian novel that allows for tons of in-depth discussion.This is the second book in the Giver Quartet - it is set in the same future time period and has some similar themes. Gathering Blue "follows the journey of Kira, a young woman with a physical disability living in a community that shuns those with 'imperfections' ." This ten-session course is meant to provide a space to read this novel together and share meaningful discussion about the book. *Prerequisite: Student must have read The Giver prior to joining this course.
