Course Description

What the Class Is: Students will investigate extreme weather events such as tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and blizzards while learning how and why they occur. How Students Will Participate: Meteorologists-in-training will analyze weather maps, make predictions, watch weather phenomena in action, complete “Would You Survive?” scenarios, play interactive games, interpret weather data, and create their own weather forecast. Outcome / Benefit: Students will strengthen their understanding of Earth science while developing skills in data analysis, prediction, cause and effect, scientific reasoning, and weather preparedness.
