Course Description
Join this hands-on cooking class where students learn by doing! Each week, we’ll prepare a full recipe using simple ingredients and minimal equipment. We cover kitchen safety, tool techniques, and recipe swaps through live demonstrations and step-by-step check-ins. It’s the perfect place to build culinary skills, gain confidence, and connect with a supportive community of fellow food lovers. **This class is booked by session. Please book each session separately. Students are not required to take every session.** Session 1: Mexican Rice & Beans Thursday, February 5th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Made with just a few ingredients, this is my go-to recipe for a satisfying, meatless meal - especially when served with some homemade salsa to kick it up a notch! Session 2: Beef Stroganoff Thursday, February 12th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Traditionally a Russian dish, this creamy pasta full of savory beef and vegetables hits the spot when you want a delicious, comforting meal. Session 3: Jambalaya Thursday, February 19th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm This flavorful one-pot rice, meat, and veggie dish, blending Spanish, French, and African influences, is loaded with bold flavors that your family will love! Session 4: Savory Chicken Pasta Thursday, February 26th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Join in and learn how to make tender, well-seasoned chicken and Italian style pasta in a creamy, rich, and delicious sauce. Session 5: Arroz con Pollo Thursday, March 5th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Arroz con pollo means ""rice with chicken"" in Spanish and is a classic delicious dish of Latin America and Spain. There are many ways to prepare it, unique to various countries, but this recipe is a fixture at my family's table. Session 6: Chicken and Sausage Gumbo Thursday, March 12th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Learn how to make gumbo, Louisiana's iconic, hearty stew made with smoked sausage and simmered with chicken & aromatic vegetables in a thickened broth. It's a rich blend of cultures and a definite crowd-pleaser! Session 7: Pizza Pasta Thursday, March 19th; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm This pasta dish is loaded with the flavor of all of your favorite pizza toppings, including a homemade sauce, but is just made in one pot!
