From savory to sweet, learn how to make a variety of baked goods completely from scratch.
Course Description
This class is a hands-on baking class where students will learn by doing! Each week, our lesson will take us from preparation through the completion of an entire recipe using easy to find ingredients and minimal kitchen equipment. Families should purchase supplies ahead of time, and students should be prepared to cook at the beginning of each class. We will review kitchen and food safety for each meeting and discuss ingredients, equipment/tools, and possible recipe alternatives. I will demonstrate each step of the cooking process, ask and answer questions, and check in with students at each step. The goal of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to learn new skills, try new recipes, and build self-confidence in the kitchen through the preparation and sharing of delicious food. Students who love to cook can meet others who share a love of cooking and be part of a supportive community of learners. **This class is booked by session. Please book each session separately. Students are not required to take every session.** Session 1: Cheddar Biscuits Thursday, September 25th; 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Made with just a few ingredients, these savory biscuits are buttery, flaky, and delicious! Session 2: Caramel Apple Buttermilk Muffins Thursday, October 2nd; 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Join in and make these tasty muffins full of apples and topped with a brown sugar crumble and drizzle of caramel icing. Session 3: Homemade Hot Pockets Thursday, October 9th; 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Learn how to make homemade hot pockets with a savory, crispy crust full of cheese and your filling(s) of choice. Session 4: Easy Cinnamon Rolls Thursday, October 16th; 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm These no-yeast, no-rise cinnamon rolls are quick to make and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Session 5: Garlic Knots Thursday, October 23rd, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm You won't be able to resist these made from scratch, buttery garlic knots fresh out of the oven! Session 6: Stuffed Pretzel Rolls Thursday, October 30, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Learn how to make soft pretzel rolls that are stuffed with meat, cheese, and other delicious fillings.
