Course Description

Ready to make challenging math concepts click? In this online 3rd grade math support class, students will strengthen essential grade-level skills through clear instruction, guided practice, hands-on manipulatives and structured practice using a 3rd grade Common Core math workbook. Students will work on key 3rd grade concepts including multiplication and division, place value, addition and subtraction, fractions, measurement, area and perimeter, geometry, and problem-solving. Lessons will focus on building understanding, not simply memorizing procedures so students can see how and why mathematical strategies work. Students will actively participate by using manipulatives and visual models, working through problems with teacher guidance, practicing skills independently and explaining their mathematical thinking. Hands-on tools will help students make connections between concrete models, visual representations, and the numbers and symbols they see on the page. By the end of the course, students will have strengthened their foundational 3rd grade math skills, developed strategies for approaching challenging problems, and built greater confidence in their ability to understand and solve math problems.
